New York State Juvenile Justice: Progress Toward System Excellence

,

This case study from FSG, The Tow Foundation, and the New York Juvenile Justice Advisory group describes why the complex juvenile justice system was ripe for a collective impact approach to reform, how the process unfolded, and the key elements for the initiative’s success. It also discusses the significant results that have been achieved to date: in just a few short years, juvenile arrests are down by 24% and the number of youth in state custody has declined by 45%, without any increase in crime or risk to public safety.
