Are you ready to transform how we think about power?
The old narratives of power – as something held by a select few, a finite resource to be hoarded and jealously guarded – have failed us. They’ve led to systems of inequality and injustice, where the voices and needs of many are silenced and disregarded. It’s time for a new story. One where power is not a possession, but a living current flowing through the intricate web of human connection.
The workshop Collective Power to Transform Systems explores how collective power, fueled by authentic relationships and shared values, can transform systems and create a more just and equitable world. We’ll learn how to shift from “power over” to “power with”, cultivate trust and address power imbalances, and engage those currently in power to create a horizontal power shift. Through practical examples and engaging discussions, you’ll develop key skills for building and sustaining collective power, while connecting this transformative work to tangible improvements in people’s lives.
Together we will explore Key Practices for Transforming Power Dynamics:
- Cultivating the Conditions: How do we create the individual and collective will and the heart to change power dynamics?
- Practices to Balance Power: What is the relational work of transforming power? How do we maintain the will?
- Sustaining Collective Power: What are the individual and collective indicators power is transforming? What new structures have emerged?
Registration includes participating in the workshop, as well as copies of the workshop post-event recording and related presentation. Attendees have three months following the workshop to review the recording.
This workshop is hosted in partnership by the Collective Impact Forum and Collective Change Lab.
