I am Senior Director for Research and Evaluation at Syracuse University’s Institute for Veterans and Military Families. There I oversee the Institute’s applied social science research and program measurement and evaluation efforts. I am also an affiliated part-time faculty member in Public Administration and International Affairs at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School where I teach on public and nonprofit management related issues. Before joining the IVMF, I served for six years as a research fellow at Syracuse University’s Institute for National Security and Counterterrorism (INSCT). I am also an eight-year veteran of the U.S. Army, and served in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Bosnia. I am a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point (B.S.) and the Maxwell School of Syracuse University (Ph.D., M.P.A.).
